Challenge

For real estate agents, posting a new property is a task that consumes time and test patience, making them feel the process is tedious and frustrating.

The redesign focused on clarity and scalability, ensuring a smooth and intuitive user journey along with a strong, cohesive digital identity.

Time consuming

Users take aprox. 17 minutes to create a listing, this is a lot according to the benchmark.

Difficult to use

Research shows an average effort score of 1.5, the flow is complex. Customer support confirms it.

Solution

A simpler flow with smart tools that enables to create better listings in less time.

Better navigation

Users can publish from any step and go back by simply scrolling or using the stepper.

We analyzed the sessions to identify the most important fields for both seekers and agents, cross-referenced the information, removed non-essential fields, and organized the remaining ones into groups.

Components were matched to 207 possible fields through a decision tree to maintain consistency.

Employed progressive disclosure to optimize space and improve the overall user experience.

Introducing smart tools

We chose these four features after our ideation workshop, AI provider testing, and user research, prioritizing the highest attractiveness (maze survey), lowest risk (models with 90% accuracy), and easiest technical implementation (API).

Automatically fills information with your media and documents (ex. expose data extraction).

Generates text from input, also can summarize and rephrase text (ex. location description with georeference).

AI is welcomed.. until it distorts reality

Agents appreciated AI features like Smart Fill and Smart Write, but found virtual staging (Smart Picture) problematic and unrealistic as its results may attract leads yet hurt deal closures due to false expectations.

Clear onboarding and terminology is necessary

The onboarding on AI features needs improvement as many participants expressed it was not clear. The discussions reveal a need for clearer definitions and distinctions in terminology. The prefix "Smart" didn't succeed.
